Columbia Power Co-op partners with Cooperative Response Center’s dispatch service.
Columbia Power Co-op will transition its dispatch function to the Cooperative Response Center, Inc (CRC) on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. CRC is a national cooperative serving over 400 utilities (electric, gas, etc.) across the United States and is also contracted with some of our neighboring co-ops, including Wasco Electric Cooperative, Umatilla Electric Cooperative and Hood River Electric & Internet Cooperative.
Columbia Power Co-op hosted four educational sessions for members during June in each of the towns of Monument, Spray, Mitchell and Ukiah. Many constructive questions arose from those sessions, and have been compiled into a single Frequently Asked Questions summary – click on the link to read more.
Changes can be challenging for some people, but we are all in this together. The employees and members alike will be learning a new process; the Board of Directors will be developing a revised outage policy, and CRC will no doubt have the steepest learning curve in understanding how Columbia Power Co-op operates. Let’s all be sure to help CRC help us as we work toward embracing this new and valuable relationship.
