I’m delighted to announce that Columbia Power Cooperative is offering student grants for higher education totaling $3000 to be awarded this spring.
It is a requirement that the applicant or their parents must be active members of the cooperative, or maintain a residence in the cooperative’s service area. Applicants are required to provide proof of residency with either a meter number or membership number. He or she must graduate from high school during the current academic school year.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 25th, 2024. Applications need to be at the office by this date.
Selection of Grant Recipients
Judges appointed by Columbia Power Cooperative - not necessarily members of the co-op - will form the Grant Committee. The judges will give consideration to the following qualities and factors in making their selection:
- Citizenship, motivation, desire, self-improvement, advancement, diligent employment of abilities in and out of school, personal habits, group acceptance and leadership . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50%

Use of Grant
Grant recipients may use the grant at the higher education establishment of their choice, including recognized trade or business schools, subject to approval.
The grant recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student in the approved school, and must provide proof to the co-op of receiving passing grades before receiving grants on a semester or term basis.
